Flowers From A Blogger Friend...

Good morning/good afternoon everyone. I hope you had a really great weekend. I’m thoroughly enjoying the new landscape lights I’ve put in the garden and I can’t wait to install more of them. I guess it’s time to get started doing a few of those wonderful improvements I’ve been putting off. I’ve got so many things I’ve been delaying because of expense, but lately I’ve been thinking why should I deny myself the enjoyment.

Chores are just about caught up in the garden as of this weekend. There are just two more small sections that need to be weeded and all that will be done. The list of things that need to be done is getting shorter and shorter and I’m so thankful to Colvin and Donnie for helping me catch things up. That pneumonia really slowed me down the past six weeks. I’ve been debating on whether or not I should water the grass. There seems to be no rain in sight and it’s starting to turn brown. Hmmmm…. Oh! And does anyone know where I can order resonably priced Clematis online?

  2. Hi Randy... thanks for visiting my blog... your photos today are beautiful! Regarding the clematis... around here, nurseries start having sales by July... especially at the small satellite hoop houses they set up in shopping center parking lots etc... quite often you can get two or three year clematis plants for a couple bucks... that's one of my goals in the next couple weeks as I hate paying $17 or more for them from the high end nurseries. Regarding garden plant purchases and their expense... I know what you mean... I'm turning 63 on Sunday and have many health issues including congestive heart failure and arrhythmias... now is the time to enjoy. That's why I started my hobby business making Tiffany Reproduction Lamps... I don't need to worry about spending some money on plants because they don't need to come out of the regular household budget and I'm never without a commission or two to work on. Take care, Larry

    1. Larry,
Your gardens are such an inspiration to me you just wouldn't believe! As a matter of fact, seeing your clematis is what has made me want to increase my collection of them. I have six stain glassed lamps in my house and I'm always on the look out for more. YOU are such an artist on so very many levels.

  3. Hi Randy, I've heard that waysidegardens.com is a great place to get Clematis --although we haven't bought any from there... Check it out online... Not sure about the prices though...

Sounds like you have been working hard in your garden... It's an ongoing project though... Of course, if we stay this hot and dry for long, everything will die --except the weeds... ha

    Great coneflower photos.

  4. I hunt for bargains on the dicount/damage rack in the back of Lowes! I was saddened to see so many dying plants while in Lowes yesterday though. They are not keeping up with the watering as they should and are loosing way too much inventory. I fear they will not purchase as much in the years to come with so much loss when it is not the fault of the plant but the employees not tending to them properly. So, be on the look out for bargains at Garden Centers as this heat is taking a toll on them...

    1. Skeeter,
I need to get by there, but it's been so hot. I've just wanted to stay in the AC. LOL
