  1. Beautiful pics. Love those Dianthus! The Dogwood looks nice as well. Many dogwoods have been in bloom in TN too (but not the one I planted last autumn - not sure why...)

  3. Randy what on earth are you doing digging holes like a mad man? .. You still have to be very careful with your back!!
Having said that ? .. I have been digging and yanking and pushing and shoving like a crazy woman myself ... and I am exhausted.
Is it me? or is gardening getting harder ? .. yup! .. gardening is getting harder, it isn't me!! haha
I finally got the old sumac (mostly OUT) and Golden Spirit smoke bush tree in .. phew !
Your plants and photos are stunning !! I wish I could see your garden in person it is so beautiful on your blog : )
Now be careful or you will be flat on your back(side) again !! haha
    Joy ;-)
PS .. that white azalea is amazing and I love that wild glad : )

  4. Wow you have a wonderful collection of iris and very unique ones! I notice you have a large clump of the Christabel, do you divide your iris or let them go? I have been dividing but am wondering if I should let them be at a certain point. As the iris aficionado you seem to be, What do you suggest? Sorry about the borers getting to yours in recent years, Sigh...

    1. Skeeter,
I'm no expert and my irises have not done well lately so I've been reading up on them. It seems they do much better when you divide them up. So after they bloom this year I'm going to be transplanting some of mine. My prettiest ones didn't even bloom last year and it looks as though it may be a repeat this year so I'm digging up and dividing. If they aren't blooming it cant hurt can it? :0)

    2. I had no iris last year as I divided in Spring. Duh, mistake but I learned my lesson to wait until after bloom for dividing. My yellow one is a repeat bloomer and it has really gotten large! I shall divide it this fall and hope for the best...

  5. Great pictures, as usual! My favorite is the group of irises with a view of the yard and patio behind them. Your beds are so tidy and perfect. I have got to edge mine this weekend!

It sure did. :0) That's one of those wonderful little accidents that sometimes happens in a garden. LOL!
